God seemed to have little to do with anything over there. Read Brock Talon's version ( God's House ) then both of Ray's books, William Schnell's 30 Years a WT Slave capped off with Gruss's 4 Presidents of The WT. Result : Cured from any organised religion forever. Biblical Christian here, plain and simple and Yes as per OP I asked God to show me, regardless of the consequences.

The point at which you think this may not be the truth
by LevelThePlayingField ini remember one of the nights that i found out the truth wasn't the truth, that is after finding out about the united nations, i remember riding my bicycle from like 1am till 5am in the city night.
it was rather chilly, maybe about 55-60 degrees and i was playing pink floyd's dark side of the moon album in my earbuds.
just riding and riding, not really tiring because of the thought that 7 men in brooklyn had duped me, duped me for like 20 plus years.

Dutch conventions organized like circuits

the whole summer the new convention hall is used for small group conventions instead of 10.000 seat external halls.. it keeps the money in the organization.
not renting external buildings.. the 29.000 witnesses here are divided now into 2.000 seat audience.. g..

I remember once at a book study in '05 there was another business owner present and we went over how we should all be keeping our lives simple as the end could be coming any time and to be ready. The conductor and himself commented on how this could apply to us personally and what plans or other could we cancel or forget about with regards to this. Well the conductor bought a fifth wheel camper for his 'business' and the business owner type sold his small weld shop building and invested in anew high tech building to expand his business into other markets such as pharma sheet metal so as to pass on the business to his grown kids. That and a new hall was planned and built the same year, with 'Jehovah' is getting s people ready for the tribulation by erecting and renovating buildings to house his loyal ones during the great day of his fury. Oh and all the while this was happening this guy was building himself a new palatial stone faced trendy home.
At that meting I commented on how I would forgo building a much needed small one car garage at home as the end was coming soon and I could build one in the new system anyway.
As they say you can't make this stuff up..

DA myself to relieve great pressure?
by Isambard Crater inmy lifelong mental illnesses, fuelled significantly by the borg, are very bad at the moment and result in me missing lots of midweek meetings, but i haven't missed a sunday in years except the occasional vacation.. the nature of my mental and emotional illnesses mean that i, as a physically in and mentally out pimo, take to heart very painfully admonishment from the platform to never miss meetings, preach all i can, and so on.. okay, i report 3 hours each month on average and no elder has ever said anything, but when they make comments on the platform, i feel such great guilt and shame, but also anger, as they do not understand my illnesses and when i do mention my situation to elders, they kind of minimise and joke about it.. some other sisters in my congregation started "officially" not attending midweek meetings a few year's ago because of their own health circumstances, but i know for a fact that some elders look down on them for this reason, not showing real understanding deep down even if they do on the surface.. i have reached the point where i want to hand in a da letter as a cry for help, or more like a clear indicator to them that when i say i'm not well enough to attend midweek, i really mean it and it's not just an excuse.
sure, i'm only 42, but i can still be too fragile to go out at night with a 30 minute drive both ways..

OP sounds like me a decade ago, and I hung on till I got suicidal. Turns out I was clinically depressed.. I went to a doctor, got the meds and concentrated on my business and hobbies only going to the odd meeting and conventions when I felt like it. Stopped reading the mags they would make me ill as does too much ex JW stuff as well. The less I went and the more I researched the better I felt. Turning point was giving myself permission to look at the society from a critical viewpoint as the OP is now doing. Read Kieth Casarona's New Boy bethel stories right here on the forum and knew right then and there that there MUST be a better way to worship. 2 years later sent in my DA. Was hard at first but got used to it real quick and in retrospect was like giving them a big F U, as they had made me do to the catholic church in writing same DA letter. When I meet any JW now I tell them openly and to their face what I found out about the org. Take back YOUR own power, don't give it away ! God and Christ want what is best for you !

For sure for about a year before coming on here, mostly Freeminds.com I was 'on the fence' as they come. Made friends with a few believers and quickly realised that the WTBTS does not have monopoly on truth, that they skew everything to their benefit and are consummate users and manipulators. But yes during my transition period of almost a year I was treated poorly by a few individuals on here. Forgive and forget.
